You must choose a foot cream right for the type and problems of your skin. Among others, there are moisturising, regenerating and antibacterial creams, meant for fighting different problems of the feet e.g. extremely dry or cracked heels, excessive sweating or athlete’s foot. How to pick a foot cream, what it should be composed of and how often to use it?

How to choose a foot skin cream?

A foot cream should contain substances which are going to tackle the problem of your feet.

1. Excessive sweating & athlete’s foot

Excessive sweating is a very common ailment which may be the consequence of various factors e.g.:

  • wrong size of shoes,
  • the air temperature,
  • strong emotions.

A moisturising and refreshing, Aloe and mint-rich cream prevents excessive sweating.

If our feet (apart from sweating too much) are prone to fungus infections, foot skin creams should be rich in substances which block the development of bacteria, and anti-fungal, freshening ingredients, including:

  • aluminium salts which slow down processes of sweat secretion,
  • anti-fungal Clotrimazole,
  • Triclosan hindering the development of bacteria,
  • anti-bacterial and anti-viral tea tree oil,
  • strongly-bacteriostatic rosemary,
  • anti-inflammatory and bacteriostatic sage,
  • mint which reduces the development of germs, refreshes and cools down.
2. Extremely dry feet

Foot skin dryness mostly affects heels, the edges of feet and toes. It may be the cause of diabetes, blood system, thyroid or rheumatoid diseases.

Foot creams fighting the problem of very dry skin should be rich in:

  • intensively-moisturizing urea, glycerol and lanolin,
  • repairing and nourishing Shea butter,
  • moisturising, soothing and regenerating panthenol,
  • vitamin A which improves skin elasticity, exfoliates and stimulates epidermis renewal.

A foot cream – how often to use it?

Use it as often as you think it’s necessary. We usually apply it immediately after a bath when the skin has the best absorption of nutrients included in cosmetics.
